<p>Lecture, four hours; discussion, two hours; outside study, six hours. Requisites: courses C137, 141, 142, 235A. Spectral analysis of ground motions: response, time, and Fourier spectra. Response of structures to ground motions due to earthquakes. Computational methods to evaluate structural response. Response analysis, including evaluation of contemporary design standards. Limitations due to idealizations. Letter grading.</p>
