<p>Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Enforced requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. Recommended for instructional credential candidates. Study of critical issues (metrics, diction, figurative language, symbolism, irony and ambiguity, form and structure) and aesthetic issues, including evaluative criteria, followed by close critical analysis of selection of representative poems. P/NP or letter grading.</p>
