<p>Fieldwork, six hours. Students participate in two service learning projects in South Africa to help them understand ongoing historical legacy of apartheid in South Africa, differences between urban and rural poverty, and link between rural poverty and urban overcrowding. Students work directly with families and children under guidance of local community organizers. Offered in summer only. Letter grading.</p>
