<p>Seminar, three hours. Introduction to large body of literature on medieval Islamic geographers. Selected readings in Arabic that represent cross-section of geographical writings distributed over number of disciplines and various aspects of geography, such as <cite>Surat al-ard</cite>, <cite>Kitab al-Buldan</cite>, <cite>al-Masalik wa’l-mamalik</cite>, topography, and travel accounts. May be repeated for credit. S/U or letter grading.</p>
