<p>Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Enforced requisites: courses 10A, 10B. Developments in English poetic genres from time of Napoleonic Wars to middle decades of 19th century. Readings enable students to understand legacies of 18th-century and Romantic writing and emergence of new forms such as dramatic monologue and novel-in-verse. P/NP or letter grading.</p>
