Description
(Same as Gender Studies M136.) Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour. Analysis of gender ideologies in several musical cultures; representations of gender, body, and sexuality by both male and female musicians; contributions of women to Western art and popular musics; methods in feminist and gay/lesbian theory and criticism. Letter grading.
