Neoliberalism, Social Justice, and Transformative Politics

Context - understanding how development of the specific form of U.S. neoliberalism since the 1980s has created the conditions for the emergence of the current systemic crisis and undermined and dramatically weakened the institutional basis of democratic governance, the ability of the political system to respond effectively, and eroded the principles of social justice.


Transformational Community Organizing – focus on a particular model of organizing that combines institutional analysis and grassroots level community political practices.

Social Movements and the Community Organizing Process – describe 
the nature and role of social movements and community organizing that challenge or contest neoliberal dominance and attempt to reassert principles of democratic 	inclusion through their struggle for social justice, promoting transformative politics and progressive social change.
