<p>Studio, six hours; outside study, nine hours. Requisites: courses 24 or 28, and 101 or 104. Focus on collaborative game design and development and discourse around collaboration and cooperation models. Games are complex interdisciplinary cultural artifacts and are often created through team based efforts merging many possible combinations of technical, formal conceptual skills and perspectives. Students work in teams and learn strategies and approaches to successful collaboration. Projects include developing and participating in workshops, working on a large collaborative group game project, and engaging with class guests through written interviews and writing. Letter grading.</p>

Collaborative Game Lab

Develop small scale game projects using variety of digital and analog skills

Prepare, run and document a game making workshop

Experience working in a small team to develop a medium scale game project using a variety of digital and analog skills (such as computer programming, animation, sound, game design, interface design)

Learn about models for collaboration through readings, writing, and participation in workshops
