Second in three-course sequence that expands prior engagement at UCLA community schools through qualitative data collection methods supporting year‑long community‑based action research, while providing support dependent on community needs. May include teaching, lesson planning, family outreach, etc. Letter grading.</p>

3.	Reflect on and Apply teaching philosophies and practices that promote TK-12 students’ development and success

2.	Conduct community-based action research projects that promote students’ understanding of inquiry design, literature reviews, research ethics, qualitative data collection methods, and qualitative data analysis steps

5.	Reflect on community schooling, in historical and contemporary contexts, including the UCLA Community Schools, and state and national community schools’ movement

1.	Demonstrate understanding of the possibilities and complexities of college access, career preparation, and postsecondary transitions centering the experiences of low-income, students of color, first generation, and immigrant students

4.	Apply ethical community engagement practices including asset-based perspectives, self-reflexivity, and respectful and authentic relationship building approaches, with TK-12 students, families, school personnel, and community partners at the UCLA Community Schools
